SAREX:

On Saturday we conducted a missing person search. "Dennis"--an imaginary individual--had not returned home from an afternoon hike. We responded to the urgent need to recover this individual, and, after deduction, clue-gathering, and careful observation, we discovered the missing individual reposing "unconcious" amid a cluster of rocks.

Ground Team Leader instructed us in various things, including signal mirror techniques.

A clue as to "Dennis'" whereabouts.

Dennis (middle). Ground team members are taking vitals. "Dennis" consisted of sticks and stones for body frame, a trashbag for a head, and old clothing to add a touch of realism.

The ground team constructed a makeshift stretcher for "Dennis" in order to carry him back to a more accessable area.

After taking care of "Dennis" the ground team went to a field to create shelters and learn about survival techniques. Here, Ground Team Leader is going through the manual in a class on ES techniques.

Packing up and heading for home base.
